The redemporits-priests from Echternach loved hiking through the woods and along the rocks in Little-Switzerland. A high-rising rock near Scheidgen was one of their favourite spots for a short break and a moment of contemplation and meditation. Several inscriptions they carved in the sandstone still witness their presence here.
The inhabitants of Scheidgen - and perhaps the priests as well - called this rock formation "Härgottskapp", because of the resemblance they saw (or believed to see) with Christ's face. It is unknown whether this is the reason the priests loved to visit this place.
