Tâk

Een "Tâk"is een gietijzeren plaat die in vroeger eeuwen achter de haard/oven werd gezet om warmte in huis te verspreiden. Tâken werden vaak versierd met afbeeldingen en/of wapens.
Het huis "A Motzen" in Boulaide had een Tâk met het wapen van de adellijke familie Gallo-de-Salamanca en het jaartal 1695. De familie was eigenaar van de ijzergieterijen van Luxeroth. Het wapen heeft drie hanen, omringd door de naam "Gallo-Salamanca".

Er zijn nog vier van zulke haardplaten bekend in Luxemburg. Twee in Bilsdorf, in het vroeger "Zehnthaus", en een in de vroegere pastoorswoning in Arsdorf. En tot slot nog dit exemplaar in het museum "A Possen" in Bech-Kleinmacher.

 

Tâk
A "Tâk" is a panel, made of cast-iron, which, in the old days, was put behind the fireplace to spread heat in the house. Tâken were often decorated with pictures or blazons.
In a house called "A Motzen" in Boulaide had a Tâk with the crest of the noble family Gallo-de-Salamanca and the year 1695. That family owned the iron foundry of Luxeroth. Their crest had three roosters, surronded by the name "Gallo-Salamanca".

Besides that one, there are (at least) five more Tâken in Luxembourg. Two of them are in Bilsdorf, in the house that used to be called the "Zehnthaus" and one in the old vicarage in Arsdorf. And this one, in Museum "A Possen" in Bech-Kleinmacher.
