Zoals de rode leeuw het symbool van Luxemburg is, zo is de brem het symbool van het noordelijke deel van het land. En sinds 1948 wordt dat symbool elk jaar geëerd - tijdens het "Gënzefest" in Wiltz, in het hart van de Ardennen. Met als hoogtepunt het fleurige en gezellige "bremcorso" op Pinkstermaandag. Met fanfares, verenigingen en natuurlijk fraai gemaakte praalwagens - versierd met heel veel brem.
Sluitstuk van de parade is de wagen met de bremkoningin van het jaar, omringd door haar hofdames. Een jaar lang mag zij Wiltz en de brem vertegenwoordigen tijdens allerlei festiviteiten.
En om een beeld te schetsen van de multiculturele bevolking van Luxemburg: de bremkoningin van 2014 heet Laura Czekanovicz, en haar hofdames zijn Hanna Batkic, Soraia Marins, Melissa van Dijk, Joana Schweig, Semira Becic en Laura Reisen.
